20" Modified UFIP Crash Ride 1920gr
At first we did this UFIP cymbal modifications for comparison purpose, to see if the outcome of it would be similar to the outcome of a Zildjian Avedis with the same specs. Where the modified Avedis cymbals tend to open up rather quick, these UFIP's are very contained and dry, but also pretty low volume. This dynamic aspect of it makes it a very interesting cymbal, since for small ensembles, that sometimes is what we're looking for. For the modification we gave this cymbal, that started as a 20" UFIP Ping Ride, a lot of hand hammering and relathed the cymbal on both the top and bottom side, to bring it down to a weight of 1920 grams.
